BMCH / PCT Coal Jig

The design of the Baum coal jig has been in existence for over 100 years and until the late 1980’s jigs were considered to have processed almost half of the world’s processed coal output.

The advent of large diameter dense medium cyclones and the desire to produce product coals to lower ash specifications, saw a marked reduction in the number of installations in the 90’s.

Baum jigs however, still provide a practical, cost effective solution to mine sites looking for options to remove parting / high density material as a stand alone (transportable) process or as a precursor to a standard dense medium cyclone circuit.

Baum jigs operate using water and pulsating air which removes the requirement and cost of magnetite to act as a separating medium.

Jigs are capable of accepting the full feed size range from 150 mm to zero with a marked cleaning effect on the fractions down to 0.5 mm, creating simple and cost efficient processing circuits.

The BMCH / PCT jigs are available in a range of widths from 1.2 m to 3.5 m and depending upon feed top size, percentage of minus 13 mm material and the reject loading can be tailored to process feed rates between 100 to 800 tonnes/hour.
